Here at J&C Kenny we’ve been helping couples plan their special day for over 30 years, so we know just how important it is for you to get everything just right. If you’re recently engaged or have been planning your big day for a number of years (congratulations, by the way!), we’re here to get you on track with at least one of those seemingly daunting tasks. We can cater to all tastes and price levels, thanks to our vast selection of New and Old World wines.
How many bottles do we need? How much red and white? Just a couple of the many questions we get asked all the time! Thankfully we can give you some answers, providing you with solutions that can be tailored to fit the needs of your wedding.
Here’s a few pointers to get you started…
How much wine should we get?
How much wine you provide is of course up to you, the couple, but as a general rule we advise you to allow half a bottle per guest. A standard 75cl bottle will serve 5 medium sized wine glasses, so you can do your sums from there. We do recommend ordering a little more than you think you might need, just in case, but don’t worry! If you have any un opened bottles at the end of the day we will gladly take them back.
How much red and white?
So now that you have an idea of how many bottles you are going to need in total, the next question is how much red and how much white? This is a simple one, as normally you’ll just need to order an even split between the two. Having said that, it’s worth taking into account that more white wine may be requested by your guests during the summer months.
Are you having a Champagne or sparkling reception?
Have you thought about having a champagne or sparkling reception? We can cater for that too! A standard sizes bottle of champagne or sparkling wine will serve 6 glasses on average. Ideally, we would advise 1-2 glasses per guest. So for example, if you have 100 guests attending and you want them all to have 1 glass, you would need 17 bottles to keep everybody happy!
